📆 Calendar: IN-PERSON: From the 19th of February, you’ll have an hour class **every Wednesday at 7:30 pm** for 8 weeks until the 9th of April. If you miss a class, you’ll still get the material and some explanations from me so then no excuse to keep practising your French every week!

In this group, we welcome students who can communicate slowly in French and are starting to engage in French conversations (with mistakes). Students should already be familiar with fundamental tenses such as the présent (je mange), passé composé (j’ai mangé), imparfait (je mangeais) and futur (je vais manger/je mangerai). At this level, students often still make mistakes, and their vocabulary is not yet very advanced. While you don’t need to have mastered the past tenses (je mangeais and j'ai mangé), you should have at least learnt it before, as we will be working on it throughout the course.

I always use English to explain concepts, but the goal is to gradually speak more and more in French. For example, you should be able to say:
- Le week-end dernier, je suis allée au restaurant avec mes amis, j'étais heureux.
- Demain, je vais partir en France et retourner la semaine prochaine au travail.

The class is discussion-focused but structured to help you expand your vocabulary and learn everyday French expressions. *My goal is to immerse you in a one-hour experience that reflects how French is spoken in everyday life.*

🤔 ***Not sure whether to choose the improver level or intermediate?***

If you feel confident speaking French, can comfortably engage in conversation without relying on English, and can understand most of what a native speaker says at their near-normal speed, I’d recommend the intermediate class. You’re still learning, making mistakes, and growing your vocabulary, but you can hold conversations and follow along, the improvers class would be better. Indeed, it is better suited for those who need a bit more support. We take things slower, use English as needed, and work on building both confidence and vocabulary.

📚 That's the overall idea, but as you know, **language learning is fluid** and can vary from one student to another. That’s why we keep our classes small, with a maximum of 6 students, to ensure we can adjust to each student’s level and make sure everyone gets plenty of speaking time. The key to learning a language is by speaking it, so our main focus is simple: speak, speak, and speak.

🧑‍🏫  The class will be conducted by Szymon from Nantes, a really experienced native French teacher.

🗣You'll be learning from a **native French Speaker**, so you’ll experience how French is truly spoken—not from an app or a textbook. A quick heads-up: you won’t be learning the typical phrases like “Parlez-vous français ?” or “Voulez-vous visiter le musée ?” because that’s not how we really talk. But don’t worry, I’ll explain all of that during the course and help you sound like a real French speaker!

The class is open for only **6 students** to keep the class small and cosy, but mostly unsure everyone can practice and ask questions. 

We'll meet in the famous French cosy café **La Barantine in Stockbridge** after it’s closed, which makes it feel more like hanging out than a formal lesson - indeed don't expect a "rigid" approach such as formal institutions. Students who come are super friendly and motivated—not just to learn French, but to enjoy some time with interesting and nice people. So my classes are all about **learning and having a good time together**. You might even get a free treat from La Barantine...

Every class includes homework and different types of exercises to help you keep a good routine outside of the class. You'll get all the materials on a printed and online version, before/after each class, meaning you don't need to buy a book. 

A few days before the course starts, you’ll get all the information about your first class and a little revision pack. I recommend you to go through it. :)
